you could turn the car in an pick up a beater for a $1,000 and use that till you secure a job if they foreclose your car you are still without a car but now a hit on your credt history. I say sell it and settle up or try to make payments on it.

I sold my acura 1993 with 190,000 miles to a buddy for $1800 6 months ago and if i had to get rid of my crossfire i would pick that car back up from him for like $1000-$1200 use it for 6 months and sell it for like $500. total cost of ownership is $80-$100 per month. my crossfire payment is around $260 a month.

i too lost a very very nice job i had lined up with Sprint Nextel after graduation and due to the economy they canceled my job before i even started. I am now applying for a job for a 30% pay cut but need to due to hard times.

either way i feel your pain and hope you the best
All good points.

I echo the sentiment and hope for the best but also recommend that you consider working with your bank to see if you can modify your payment schedule etc.

In the end as much as we love our cars, they are just that and your home food and other bills probably take priority. I am not sure if you have a family but they would be your top priority!

BTW what do you do, maybe someone here may also help with employment...
