I think the climate in my area is such that the normal operating temperatures of my engine coolant is almost always going to be above 200* F.

A 180* thermostat would open up sooner and prolong the warm up-time to normal operating temps, but not reduce it.

Perhaps if you live in a cooler climate this will be a great mod - but in winter months, your cabin heat may be reduced.
Brian he doesn't drill holes it is a new thermostat made from tow different MD ones. Dave
