I took it to firestone for them to refill the coolant for me and to my surprise the coolant was completely full. The mechanic told me that something else was wrong with the car and there was nothing anyone could do for me. He refused to put coolant in it of course and sent me on my way with the "damn" light still on. I need to know if the switch is broken or the bobber is stuck or what to do. Please help me.

Just a guesstament on my part, but I would check the coolant level myself when the engine is cold. DO NOT CHECK HOT
If the level is good, check the wiring to the tank sensor, if wiring is good replace the sensor.
