Default Re: A sign that you didn't want THAT Crossfire!!!

It took me a little over a year to find my baby. When I started looking I still worked for a DCJ dealership and could get a great deal, but we dealt most in disclosure units - something I really didn't want. Plus most of those were double punched .... I actually took a ride out to Lake Wales to see car #15 - about 1.5 hrs from home, after a long day of approving car loans. Now I knew that this wasn't really the car I wanted - wrong color, wrong interior, but I had been looking for so long that maybe it was time for me to get color blind. This was a private seller & I could tell he loved the car. He didn't love me .... might have had something to do with me asking him when his precious baby had been in a car accident. This man had owned the vehicle for 5 months & put 300 miles on it (he had bad knees & it was hard for him to get in & out of it) & here I come walking up telling him about an accident!! The nerve of me ... of course it had obvious orange peel & over spray. I did the math on fixing it correctly & made him an offer that he obviously COULD refuse. I had driven all that way because the man said he was ready to DEAL!! He did offer to drop his price by $200. I drove away. The day after I drove my new car home he called me to accept my offer (I paid $2K less for my current car) and 3 months later it was still for sale for $4k less than what I offered him for the car.

BTW - the car had a clean CARFAX!
