If I remember correctly you are far from a "spoiled kid" you worked for that car helping pay for it-good for you. That said...."Can I become a sibling? Please" My first car was a VW Bug semi automatic with a leaking sun roof for $600. Which now would be a Great deal. Ran until I sold it, many years.
As far as our XF purchase:
Sunday night the husband said "guess you should look around for a XF" (silly man look to me is BUY, but he already knew that) Monday at 8:30 am found the car, by Thursday it was in our driveway
