Re: A sign that you didn't want THAT Crossfire!!!
Mine was a simple process. I had gotten a trade from a friend on a 98 Eldorado with only 80K on it in 2008, so 8k a year and the car was really clean, not a mark on it. But I had no passion for the Eldorado. fine car, just not inspiring. So I'm thinking a Mustang, maybe a Challenger. So I go to the Chrysler dealer, sit in the new Challenger, not overly impressed. Looked at a Mustang, thousands of them out there and in my opinion overpriced. Saw one 2006 GT in the color I wanted, Shelby spoiler, leather and 9K on the clock but they want 21K for it-not.
Anyway, I see this SSB Cross coupe on the floor, new for 23K, and I'm getting excited really fast. Sit in it, fits like a glove, the trunk is bigger than I thought. Ask the sales guy how they handle in the winter and he says like a pig on skates, talks me out of the car-I get disappointed and leave. Then I talk to a mechanic friend and he says nonsense, good winter tires and the car is stable like a rock. I get excited again.
So I find an Alabaster coupe for 14.9, and an aero blue, same price, the white one has 10.3 on it, the blue 13.5. We had some snows in early December so I'm emailing the sales guy and finally a couple of weeks into December I test drive the white one. Look at the blue one but my head keeps going back to the just white on black one, simple. All the rest of the Crosses there are 4500 more. I'm a bit skeptical why the blue and the white are so much cheaper. Oh well, an hour later and I'm driving off the lot in the white one, and I have not had one hiccup in 5K miles so far.
