My story is a bit different.
I had been lusting after the Crossfire since before they were formally introduced and when prices plummeted I knew I was going to have my chance. When I found a dealer on autotrader.com with a selection at great prices I stopped in for a test drive or two. I drove a Sapphire Silver Blue Roadster first but ultimately decided on an Aero Blue Roadster. We work the deal and the car is being prepped while the paper work is being finalized. The salesman comes up to me and says "OK, it's ready but the paperwork is still a few minutes away. If you want to look it over out front, I'll be with you in a couple of minutes". So I go out front and I'm standing next to a SSB Roadster figuring the salesman is going to bring mine around. A few minutes later he walks up to me and says "So, what do you think?".
I say "What do I think about what?".
"What do you think about your new car, of course!"
"Well, I don't know, I haven't seen it yet"
"Whaddya mean? This is it!" he replies, pointing to the SSB Roadster.
"Uh, that's not my car" I say, "mine is supposed to Aero Blue. You guys prepped the wrong car!"
Apologies from the sales manager followed, along with confirmation that the paperwork had the right VIN on it, etc. And because I was now being forced to wait even longer, they bought me lunch.
But I got the car I wanted and I love it.
