Default Re: Who's who of Chrysler bankruptcy

If you're going to start calling people out you might want to know a little about them.

Bob Lutz was the one who brought the Viper and Prowler cars out of Chrysler. He also pushed hard for the LH cars to be brought to market, they were a huge sales success for Chrysler. When he was at Ford he was one of the chief people for bringing the Explorer to market, another huge success. When he went to GM, one of the first things he did was get pontiac to drop the practice of putting all that ugly plastic body cladding on the bottom of the cars. He also brought the Solstice / Sky to market, as well as the new Camaro and the G8.

Before he did any of this he was at BMW where he was one of the people responsible for the development and sales of the 3 Series, a car which to this day is one of the more successful long-term sales figures.

He went into Exide when they were already in trouble, hardly his fault.

The man lives and breathes cars, and always has. I had the opportunity to meet him a few times when he was at Chrysler and I came away extremely impressed with his grasp of the auto industry from top to bottom.
