I do believe the police or at least in Ga. are under paid and for the most part, alot of them are not very educated. That's not to say everyone. But you have to admit alot of police officers have that bully attitude and some think they can abuse the uniform and do. It's a power or control thing I guess.

However, most attorneys I think just sell their souls to the devil. I know there are good people in all walks of life. But lets tell the truth, some of these people just abuse our justice system.
Well, perhaps I'm misreading your posts, but Barbie, you ARE lumping 'them' all together. You are lumping the entire legal system in one blob of underpaid, uneducated, inethical, dirty cops, soulless lawyers and I'm pretty sure you would have mentioned something unsavory for judges.

YES, there are bad apples in every profession. And perhaps the police profession tends to attrach those with a more - shall we say - aggressive temperment. Actually, you cannot do a go job as a cop if you are passive or cannot stomach any kind of confrontation. Cops tend to see human nature at it's most pathetic and cruel worst, and some cops may temper their personalities in order to manage to get through the day, somewhat like soldiers in battle.

Where I live in TX, the local police departments are vastly underpaid, and many younger cops run as fast as they can to get either into Border Patrol or the State police, simply so they can earn a decent living since their salaries are tied to the taxes of the local, very poor towns. Many cops become cops not because they like to bully others, but simply because it is a necessary profession, and some hope they can help people in need. Are there bad cops here? Sure. This area by the border could be considered prime dirty cop/judge/politician habitat. But there are also good cops/judges/politicans.

To stereotype an entire profession based on some seriously disturbed individuals (IMHO, Peterson could be easily diagnosed as psychopathic, and YES I think he is guilty) and to say that you 'understand' that there are some good guys out there is very judgmental and condescending.

People don't become cops with the intention of being bad cops. They tend to be bad people to begin with. Peterson would still be slime even if he were in a different profession. He is not Peterson the Cop but Peterson (if found guilty in a court of law) the Murderer.

*Sorry* I don't know any cops but still feel the need to defend a profession I know I lack the ***** to enter....(now getting off my little dais and rushing back to my little underpaid government job....)
