The bosch is a direct replacement besides the wires. The johnson requires the wires, bracket, and hoses. There is no performance upgrade, and no one has kept the temp needle down from just the pump alone. I still ran 11's with a bosch pump. The wires are easy, positive and negative. Both are easy, just depends if you want easier.
