Are you sure you have the belt correctly lined up in the grooves in all of the pulleys? The belt could be offset and rubbing against something or the offset will flex the belt side to side and cause rapid wear.
Is the tensioner giving the correct tension, if the new belt is too long it will slip without the correct tension.
