Well, the time has passed, we got the Dragon meet and the grandkids vist behind us. Tonite cathy and I went out to buy her personal defense weapon.
She tried the Kel Tec and the Sig 380. Could not pull back the slide easily so we went to revolvers.
Ended up with the Smith & Wesson 642 Airlight with Crimson Trace grips, and a 1.50" barrel. Nice piece with a built in laser and integral key lock feature. A bit larger than the autos but with the enclosed hammer, and more comfortable grip, it should work well for her. The trigger is a rather hard pull but she felt comfortable with it.
38 special rounds are dear right now. I have about 100 or so and mabe 120 357 magnum's for my Ruger Black Hawk so we are off to the range. We were able to get some 38 SPL+P with which she will carry. After our training for CCW which should happen in two weeks.
Joined NRA tonite so I guess we are really on the watch list now.
Thanks for everyones help and advice.
BTW they had some nicely priced 1911's on the shelf (for me) but her S&W was twice what we budgeted for so that'll have to wait.
