If you really want to convert it to a V8 and don't care about the brand of engine that goes in...Put an aluminum LSx engine from Chevrolet...the tuning is easy and cheap and unlimited supply of speed parts...500+ HP with heads and a cam...

I personally love these cars but think they were hurt by being priced way too high to be called a Chrysler and if you have to pay this much for a Chrysler then it better really perform. Performace wise they really didn't do anything outstanding. I love the build quality and looks and have set out to rebuild my car the way I think it should have come from the factory. I personally believe the SRT will be a very valuable classic in the future and that is why I didn't buy one (yet). If I had I bought an SRT I would have felt compelled to keep it all original. Since I wanted to really thrash one of these cars I picked 2004. Now who wants to come help me yank that anemic V6 out of my engine bay?
