Sometimes I just shake my head when I read threads on this forum....you are such a group of elitists, and when it comes down to it, we own one of the worst flops of modern times. Step off your chairs and cherish the car for what it is...good fun. I love mine, but it is just a car. I for one am glad the car depreciated so much...the cost is now comparable to the value.

Sorry for further hijacking the thread, but the guy didn't ask for general opinions on whether or not modding a car is a good idea, but was looking more specifically for practical knowledge from those that have done it before....that is what a car community is all about.
I enjoy my car everyday. I drove it on my way to work and gave it a real good workout! I enjoyed every second of it. I take good care of it and treat it with respect just like every car I have owned. I keep it spotless and clean... I try to keep dents and dings away. I change the oil and treat it like everything else I own. The car is a reflection of me and how I live. It may be a depreciating asset (every car is) but that is no reason to treat it like a piece of garbage and abuse it. That is no reason to take a risk by injecting nitrous into the engine and hope the research says it is safe. To me that is abuse.

As for the value of this car... every person I know loves the car. They think it is beautiful and everyone seems to agree it is worth keeping. It is a symbol of the Mercedes Chrysler merger and the car has a unique story behind it. One day 20-30 years from now people will see a Crossfire on the street and want to check it out.... much like the Karmann Ghia or an old Mustang, Camaro or Porsche. Let's face it... the Fiero was a huge flop. They are now very rare. Once in a while I see a nice one and I wouldn't mind buying or driving it
