Going from 0w40 to 5w40 shouldn't be a problem at all. Now if you were driving the car in sub-zero weather, I would see how it cranks up in the morning if left outside.

Since Walmart sells 5w40 Mobil 1 in 4 or 5 qt jugs, I will probably switch up next time.
