Nothing on that car even makes sense. The injectors aren't larger. The ECU has not been modified. If the turbo were replaced with one that would make more than stock power, the engine would detonate in an instant.

How much effort was spent on this exercise in making the SRT6 worse than stock?

As far as "half the boost" and "fast as stock" times, I have to say this - the physics don't lie. There's no way that's physically possible. Someone is either lying about the boost pressure or the 1/4 mile time.
I think the point is just trying to see what can be done, and starting out with a turbo in the easiest possible test case.

The SRT is already set up mechanically and electronically to run under boost. Granted, this is less boost than they are used to with the supercharger, but it's also boost at a different rpm range.

I look at it like scuba diving......when you are first starting to learn you stay close to the top, with reliable equipment, you don't go straight for the deep sea and a pressure suit.

By using a SRT bigger injectors shouldn't be neccessary until you get to higher boost or messed up A/F ratios. I also don't think that thing will blow up with higher boost as the SRT guys have already been trying different pulleys, and a few have even run with stacked pulleys without a problem.
