I wonder if GM had future plans to resurrect the Firebird/Trans Am before Government Motors put the ax to Pontiac. That would have helped them defer the development cost over two cars. Now they have to count on one car to do that. Oh wait, we the tax payers just did that for them. 
My brother there in Plano has one on order. Late July delivery. I can't wait to see it.
as to the governbment marketing cars, they don't have to. if we don't buy them they will just raise taxes to pay the wages and flog the dead horse again. Like Amtrak. If all else fails they could make cool cars illegal.
