My husband's garage queen is a '69 RS/SS big block, factory convertible, etc; he HATEDHATEDHATED the idea of Chevy re-using the Camaro name and silouette (sp). He's one of those weird old-school guys who thinks that any car that is not made mostly of (rustable) metal and does NOT have that house-shaking rumble when you start the engine is not a muscle car. He is, though, looking forward to the local dealership actually having a car in the showroom so he can drive The Queen to the dealership and ask a stupid question...

But then again, I thought that the 350Z in no resembled the original Z it was supposed to pay homage to (I used to have a '70 240Z)

On the plus side, though, I can imagine that riding in one would be almost heaven....no overheating (of engine or poor hapless rider - that would be me - from heat generated from engine), air conditioning that works, power convertible top, POWER STEERING, no lovely aroma of gas from carburator, etc.

The newer camaro will most likely be very popular, and I am sure that there are many former Camaro owners that will love to get one, but (here I don my flame-proof suit), perhaps Chevy would have done better by bringing out this apparently-upgraded and updated car with it's own name. Avenger and Challenger also come to mind; two good cars, but I can't help but compare them to the original names, and therefore overlook anything that makes these cars unique. It's like having families with lots of 'Juniors'.

Maybe the two of us are picky in that way
