When I took paperwork from my '70 Datsun 240Z to the local Nissan dealership to see if there were any recalls done on the vehicle (l had done the same when I had an '86 300ZX), a small gaggle of salesKIDS pored over the title, had little conferences amongst themselves, then very seriously informed me that a) the seller had faked the title since the VIN was not 16 digits long, and that they couldn't really help me since the car was a Datsun and they were a Nissan dealership (for those not in the know, Datsun changed their badges to Nissan circa 1984). This was around the time that Nissan came out with the 350Z and I recall all the hype about the 'continuation of a legend, Z car, blahblahblah...
It takes a lot to leave me speechless, but since these guys were at least polite and seemed sincere, I just walked out.

they were better when they first came out because they were built by mercedes but after like 05 chrysler took over the whole build and they are all chrysler". I just thought to myself, man...have I been misinformed?
