Having moonlighted at my local dealership a few years back, I can tell you, they will send you to school to learn about the products. This doesn't happen immediately, and you have to want learn once you go. The school was informative, and I learned a lot about the product. Many of the younger salesmen, would rather talk and take smoke breaks, laugh about the fact they were getting a 3 day vacation on the boss. Everone here knows, to be a successful salesman, you have to know the product and you have to listen to want your customer wants and expects first. I had a 4 rating the whole time I was there, and I was part-time...I could never have done that job full-time. Not for me. But it was fun helping out a friend for awhile. I am still treated like an employee everytime I walk in, and I still get my discounts.
