I hope no one minds me coming in late with an idea about a destination. I have driven the
super slabs across the midwest (could not eat corn for years afterwards) straight roads, frost heaved expansion joints, big trucks, slow campers, long straits with idiots in the left lane and cops on the over passes. A big yawn. Sorry just my observation. If you guys back east have never driven in the west, you should give it a try.
The Black hills, Jackson hole,
Yellowstone, the Colorado Rocky Mountains, The Grand Canyon,
Highway 50 in Nevada (the loneliest road in America), I wouldn't mind a shot at the
silver state challenge. Anywhere west of Rapid City, South Dakota out to the
Pacific Ocean will blow you away. Take a run on the Salt Flats. Rent a Jeep in
Moab, see
the lodge at Old Faithful, Take your wife to dinner at (
The Million Dollar Cowboy bar and steak house) in Jackson Hole. Do you know what a
Hoodoo is? If this seems to far away from you, check into having your car
shipped (it's not very expensive) and fly out to meet it somewhere that you would never see otherwise. You know your Crossfire has earned an exotic vacation out west. I have seen the Arch in St. Louis. "nice". Have you seen
Arches Park?
