Re: new camaro wow
So I finally saw one this past Sunday at our weekly Cruise In up close and personal. What a beautiful car. If Chevy had made cars like this all along who knows. In order to convince myself that I don't want one of these I came up with a couple of excuses.
First - the front end has a lip on it that will most likely meet a curb. If it cracks it looks like the entire front section would need to be replaced not just the lip. Expensive repair. (this is actually the only legit excuse I could come up with, I really tried to come up with others, really!)
Second - Not really that big of a deal (but I have to make it a big deal so I wont want a Camaro) those chrome exhaust surrounds are a bit much, I'd have to paint those the same color as the car. In the case of the car I saw it was black so I'd simply paint them with some black heat paint, done. I must admit I also saw a yellow one the night before and it too was pretty cool but it was on the other side of the road and I didn't see it up close. So I guess what I'm saying here is that this excuse might not work with a different color.
Third - It was a little bigger than my previous Camaro's but then again it wasn't so big I would use that as an excuse so forget this excuse.
Fourth - and probably most important. So I sit down with my wife to begin the delicate negotiations Sunday afternoon. She brings up a couple of pretty good points..........
The last 3-4 Chevy products we owned were junk and the dealer's didn't back up their products, "remember that Pat?"
Why would you trade in your beautiful, unique, do I need to add its got Mercedes guts Crossfire for a Chevy? Where is your brain?
So I responded "I guess your answer is no?" "You got it", she said, " I can't believe we are actually having this discussion!"
So that's my Camaro experience. In all seriousness nice car, very pretty but my wife is right it didn't hit me the way the Crossfire did the first time I saw it. Now if the guy with the 34 Ford roadster I saw at the same Cruise In is selling we have a real problem.
