Definitively not easier to just swap coverings. It's a chore and took me about 2 hours to pull the covers, take pictures and put it all back together. Time to take it out of the car is 5 minutes. Disconnect the battery, remove the 4 bolts holding on the seat, remove the seatbelt from the seat, unplug the wires under the seat, and do the reverse to install the new one.
