I would think that the tint will do just what they claim-reduce interior temps. I would think that a metallized coating (silver or bronze) would help reflect IR as well as UV. I wouldn't think twice-seems an easy decision.

I will be doing this to my roadster this summer as well. Just for looks-mine is garaged 99% of the time.
