Here are a couple of runs I did that have close 60' times as the ones you posted here. Runs where on April 24 this year at Orlando Speedworld :
60': 2.029
330: 5.463
1/8 ET: 8.274
1/8 MPH: 87.58
100': 10.680
1/4 ET: 12.709

1/4 ET: 12.562
1/4 MPH: 110.87

1/4 ET: 12.521
1/4 MPH: 111.12
Notice that I have higher 1/8 trap speeds but lower 1/4 traps than you. Don't now what that means exactly, but you mention that the tune on your car is for your future mod setup (I have the LET V2 tune). Seems you pull harder in higher gears than I do.
If you want better 1/4 ETs, you need to launch harder. I was a little timid launching on the runs above, as I can pull 1.8x 60's if I launch like this:
1. Do a good burnout. Get those tires nice and warm. I usually do about a 5-6 second burnout. You'll want to experiment since you have different tires than I do (Goodyear GS-D3s).
2. Stage around 1600-1700 RPMs. (If I stage higher, my brakes start to not hold. Your milage may vary

)
3. On launch, FLOOR IT! Don't ease into the throttle. Caveat: Trap prep needs to be good to do this without spinning. I've been pretty lucky at OSW in that they've been spraying the track on our Street Drag nights. Of course it does wear off as the night goes on. (It really sucks to have a night running 12.3s then go and run a 13.8 'cause you launched too hard

)
These steps should get you a 1.8x 60', lower if the DA is great. You would have been running 12.4s at Nats if you could launch more aggressively.
thumper thanks a bunch for the slips. i know the tune is for a different setup and i am running rich.
the advice you gave will be taken in future events... the track prep wouldn't allow me to just floor it off the line no matter how long the burnout. i stage at 1300 i tried one at 1500 and i went sideways off the line and ran a 14 something haha.
the reason why i am happy is that the times i got were similar to Toms car with different mods.
to the guy asking why the code 3's dont last long is because guys like me who always want more never can stick with the same setup. i am not going with the 185 setup just yet i have some good hope for the 181 setup tho.
i will be going to EC sometime and seeing if i can get a run on the dyno to get a re flash and see the difference.
