I tried a couple of different shoe polishes-none lasted more than a week at best.

This product is a thick, syrupy clear product for tires. It states "High Gloss", but can be buffed out to a nice matte finish for tires.

It's effect on the tape strip is quite long-lasting. The best I've found.
