The same strap then ties down your cargo with the buckles on the pads. I also put a small towel under each strap above the window to keep from scratching the car. Any pictures yet? It just occurred to me... How about putting it into the trunk and anchoring it to a few of our many plastic hooks, close the hatch on it and bungie it down, hang a bright flag from the end of the kayak.. hahahah not the prettiest. But so what if your only going 10 min away. Sure would be the quickest and cheapest... Although I'm not sure if enough of the kayak would be in the trunk that it wouldn't wanna flip out.

What do you all think?...
