So you are 70. At least with my company you would be getting a higher rate. Why? Older drivers in many cases have a lot more accidents than the 30-65 crowd on average. Not necessarily you but they don't just look at you when they make up the rates. They look at your age group as a whole. Is it fair? Insurance companies in their infinite wisdom have a field day with their predictibility tables. I would shop, you have time. We do as much as we can to get a customers rates down. I don't get paid commission, I'm on a flat salary so it would do me no good to charge a customer more than they should pay. That said I understand your frustration, please understand ours, in some cases we can't do any more with what we are given. Who insures you? Just curious.
