they both use the same rods, head studs, headgaskets. the cranks are physically the same save for the bolt pattern... why they didnt just redesign the flex plate i dunno.
Although both have forged internals, the cranks, connecting rods, pistons and cams are noticeably different between the two motors. They also use different timing chain covers, water pumps, and crank pulley in addition to accessory pulleys.
