Re: Are we fighting a war on Terro or aren't we??
I have to say that I'm a little different to what it seems like most are on here... namely that I would draw the line at torture (then again define torture... is it physical? is it mental? is it both?) bottom line is that if I KNEW that by torturing someone I could save 2/3/4+ lives I'd do it - but that is the rub, torture isn't 100% so by that definition all toture obtained information must be viewed as suspect... Ben Franklin had it right when he said "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. " like it or not essential liberty applies to those howling stone-age animals of the taliban as well otherwise we may as well sink to their level
as an aside no we didn't ask for the terrorists to fly into the Twin Towers or blow up sections of the London Underground but to the twisted minds who commited this crime continued support over nearly 60 years for Israel does taint us (and that's one big can of worms right there!!!)...
