With all due respects, I have a lot of mixed emotions about WC. In 1968, "The most trusted man in America" used his influence to say the Vietnam War could not be won. LBJ said "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost middle America." IMHO, that was a turning point for the TV media in that they then knew they had the power to greatly influence the populace.

The national TV media then knew they had a greater power to influence America over the print media.
