Under "spirited driving", the tranny will stay in gear and hold it until
it feels is the best time to shift. If you want to make it go into the next gear, you can bump the shifter over and override. It is odd at first, but once you get used to it you grow to really appreciate this transmissions in these cars.
i have to say i have never felt my tranny "hanging up " on me. if i use the D the tranny will shift at the tcu mandated times due to fluid pressure. if i use the sport shift then with the traction control off the tranny will shift at the redline in each gear.
