(Mystery hole behind the rear license plate). The hole was orgionally covered with cheap tape that weathered away. It's purpose is to hold the center of the bumper tightly against the body. There are several other screws and nuts helping out. The bottom portion of the exhaust shield comes off with the bumper. When I bought my car,it came with free test miles from the previous owner. Including a paint scratch on the back bumper. After years of looking at this scratch,I couldn't take it anymore. The body shop said the bumper had to be removed for a quality paint job that wouldn't peel back over the years. $300.00 to remove and reinstall the bumper then $300.00 to refinish the small scratch, then paint the entire bumper.
