Default Re: Window button sticking?

This is a 10 minute fix with a manual and a 15 minute fix if you have an auto.

Manual:

Pop out the shift boot, take your fingers and pull up on the back part of the shifter surround bezel inside the hole that boot covers, take a flat blade screwdriver and while putting light pressure on the button, pop out the first tab and then while still applying pressure to the switch, do the same for the other tab holding in the switch. Take your fingernail and slide it in between the middle part of the switch and the switch cover(silver part on top that rocks back and forth) and clean everything up with rubbing alcohol or other mild cleaner. Don't spray anything directly into the switch but rather spray or pour it onto a paper towel and then clean black part of the switch and the silver button part, the hole that the switch goes in and the reassemble everything in the reverse order that you took it apart.

Automatic:

Take your fingernail and slide it in between the little trim ring that goes between the shifter surround bezel and the shifter and pry up very slowly all the way around. It will give a lot of resistance but it will come out rather easy if you take your time and work it out slowly. After that, follow the same instructions above.
