Probably not what your looking for but it might give you a few ideas? This is what I came up with for my XM mount. I put a few bends in a pieice of 1/8 x 2" peice of aluminum, drilled a couple of holes then put a coat of rustoleum hammer paint on it. Cost was less than five bucks but I spent the better part of a day fitting and such.
Yes, I am STILL in search of something more tactile. And, well, the only solution is custom fabricating which I am capable of. But the reason I've been holding off is I'm unsure of the location I'd like to put it. The most convienient location as for usability would be an obstruction to the 6spd, hence the reason its there. This location like billangiep could work, but since the iphone wit the added cable out the bottom is quite long its going to get in the way of my knee and/or the ignition. I almost want to take away the mount all together and just pick up the phone with the cable attached! But that expensive dock I bought already is so damn easy to drop in the phone every time I get in my car (I always hook up to my headunit for music).
