Apparently you have an early model Crossfire. My 2005 SRT6 (build date 9/04) had the clear tape installed to avoid the rubbing of the paint off those two areas in the hatch area. No issues after 3 years of ownership.
As stated previously, add strips (3-4) to the "U" shaped catch and the rattles should go away. A secondary solution is the use a Torx screw driver and adjust the rubber stops lower.
