Google "Devil's Backbone TX" and you'll get a selection of short you tube videos. The Hill Country is one of Texas' best kept secrets. The Backbone is a nice ride, but if you want excitement, try the "Three Sisters" routes 335, 336, and 337. A 15mph curve means just that as the crosses along the roadside attest to the non-believers. If you wan a leisurely ride, stop at RILEY's on the Backbone or the Devil's Tavern and start a friendly conversation with one of the locals.

I'm with John on this one, the Devils Backbone is a nice drive but ain't all that and a bag o chips ! Take it from a local, I live not 15 miles from the Backbone.
The Sisters are the best the Texas Hill Country has to offer as far as scenic drives, challenging roads and good ole back country fun. Check out the town of Medina and the Cowboy Capital of Texas, Bandera. Stay at the infamous Koyote Ranch and take in the Hill Country from the porch of your private cabin.
It's been really, really, really HOT in the Hill Country of late, you may want to venture this way later in the year.
