Since my last post I've been back to check the car and had a look at the VIN. Thanks for the tip FTroopChief!
The car was manufactured in March of 2006 but not registered on the road until a full year later!!
The last 5 digits of the VIN are '68417', I don't know how that stacks up? I read on wikicars that "only twelve 2006 SRT-6's are believed to exist, but that number is unconfirmed." Do you think my car is one of those?
I can't wait for Friday!!!!!

Hi, good luck for Friday - dont be concerned about the length of time from manufacture to reistration, this seems typical, and its not unusual for any make of car. I reckon there are more than 12 srt's in the UK, theres a few guys on here got them, but most had to go to USA cos' they accidently put the steering wheel on the wrong side in some of them
