To say they failed because they got hot is not true at all, they work in an area that gets hot so they should work all the time at that temperature. You had it work for a week, it got hot then and did not fail. It failed because it had a weakness in it. The heat may have made the weakness more pronounced but it did not cause the weakness, big difference.
