For those who changed the stabilizer, how was the condition of the old one?
The reason I ask because I don't think it was the stabilizer's fault in my case. I just changed mine, but both the new and old stabilizers feel about the same. require about the same amount of force to move.
Changing the stabilizer didn't fix the free play problem on my steering wheel. I was looking at the steering mechanism, the shaft attached to the steering wheel can turn freely for a few degrees (about an inch or so on the rim of the steering wheel), and does not move the pitman arm (while the engine is off). I think something is loose in the steering box, Anyone have ideas? Would it be some simple DIY fix, or require to send to the shop? and how much it cost to fix? Thanks.
