CAI first, then pulley...I run the code 3 pulley because, until Woody and Rob at Needswings, came out with their new pulley set-up, I didn't trust the 185 for reliability. Now that we have some real engineering behind it, I will switch to the 185 in the future w/ Rob and Woody's kit. I think the battle between C3 and 185 could go on and on...having testing at US 41 against those running them...real racing, I can stay with most, and the one's I can't are running drag radials...choose by reading and learning. C3 was having problems with some of their pulleys as well. I got a good one, no problems at all. I think the 185 is the better set up over all, and Needswings new kit is a future purchase for sure....Good luck....
