It is possible.
The rev limiter is usually set at 5740 RPM's

You can have the rev limiter remapped to allow 6800 RPM in any gear you choose. I have my manual mapped to allow 6800 in 1,2,3 but only 6300 in 4,5,6. I don't recommend 6800 in 4,5,6 as you may get valve float which, at those speeds, could be dangerous.

This will allow one to go over 90 MPH in 3rd. It also helps that first gear launch issue.

It will also void your warranty.

You should change out your injectors if you want to do this or you will run lean.
