Thanks for your comments and recommendations. I have another companies air vent holder...and it is not secure enough and moves when cornering. It sort of clamps to the vains in the air vent...do not like it!

Is this air vent holder more secure? Also...can it be easily put on and removed...I only want it there if I am using the GPS.

Also...does the clip scratch the paint?

I do like the mount higher at eye level as you mentioned. That is ideal as long as it is sturdy.
