Default Re: SRT Track Experience!

Old thread revival, but . . .
I attended the SRT Track Experience at Michigan International Speedway yesterday. A buddy bought a '09 Challenger SRT8 and three of us were his 'non-driving' guests. I think it cost us 'non-drivers' $50 a piece to go.
It was great fun. Every car guy/gal should do it.
The lineup was:
Caliber SRT4
Charger SRT8
300C SRT8
Challenger SRT8
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

There were two Vipers but they were only used on the last event and driven by pro drivers. Awesome to see and hear them though.

I was most impressed by the 300C SRT8 and the Jeep SRT8. The 300, at 130mph+, was the quietest and most easy going of them all. It was like we were only going 55mph or so. The Jeep was awesome. 425hp and AWD makes for a great combo. It stuck like glue in the corners and off the line. Plus 135mph in a Jeep on the MIS is amazing. I want one.

One of the instructors asked me if I was going to go out and buy a SRT vehicle after the event. I told him that I had a SRT6 Roadster and he went on and on about what great cars they are. I guess the word spread throughout the instructors that I had the SRT6, a few more of them came up and talked to me about them. One instructor said that when they discontinued the SRT6, they tried to 'blow one up.' He said they did crazy and incredibly harsh things to them, but they were 'bulletproof.' Anyone who talked about the SRT6 had great things to say about it. I did not hear one ill comment at all, which was nice.

All in all, it was a great day. They fed us, had SRT merchandise available, got to ride along with pros pushing these cars to their limits, etc.
It was amazing to see what any of the SRT vehicles can do.

There is a lot behind that little SRT badge.

Cheers.

RIP Sidez.
