Default Re: low tire prs. light on in cold weather

Exactly! I vowed that I would garage the car for the winter, but had to take it out 2 days ago. The high was in the teens here and the low pressure light was on, so I raised the pressures up 2 lbs. They were around 28-29lbs, but I didn't want to put too much in because of the cold tires. Actually, I was surprised that the light was on with that much in them. Adding air didn't eliminate the warning light, but after driving for a while, it went off. Then after being parked for a couple hours in the cold, it was on when I left, but went off right before I got home, about 1/2 hour later. (But I was driving kind of slow, because it was snowing and the roads were slippery. Had the roads been dry and I could have driven with a little more fun, I'm sure it would have gone off sooner )
Now it's back in a heated garage, hopefully spring will get here sooner than later!
I think that so long as the light goes off, you should be ok, but if it doesn't, you might want to check the pressure yourself to make sure it's not too low.
