Roberta & I just returned from Chateau Elan after taking in their annual Vineyard Fest event Sunday afternoon. We both noticed this morning that the lawn had been freshly mowed since we parked our 07 Coupe in an end spot of the self-park lot around Sunday noon. We checked the front end of the car as this was the closest to the lawn edge but didn't see any damage. But the car did have a lot of grass all over it so I know whoever mowed nearby threw the clippings towards our car. Minor Upset!
Upon unloading our things earlier this morning, I noticed that the left rear taillight assembly is cracked and there our scuff marks just under the lens along the rear bumper upper body line and on the outer vertical edge on the left side of the license plate section. Whatever "rubbed" our XFire had to be high as all of the damage is above the bumper top body line. I suspect that whoever was driving the mower near our car, tried to get as close as possible to mow the very edge of the grass and the handle control lever made contact with our XFire. The damage is indicative of "rubbing" by a mower's handle bar controls. From some of the commercial mowers I've seen, even the "doglegged" shape of the bars would have aligned with the contour of the XFire & created this kind of damage. I AM PO'd BIG TIME!
Enough of my rant. It's just irritating to take as much precaution as possible when parking these beauties and even then some parking lot damage still occurs.
