I have been reading the post in the forums. I have tried the DIY, techniques and I am beginning to suspect that it maybe the pump. The engine light hasn't come on but once in a while it will.
I guess I want to put this issue to bed once and for all. I don't want to pay the stealership prices for a new air pump installation.
Is it true that leaving the pump as is will not cause collateral damage to other parts surrounding it, or other systems in the car? I would prefer to fix it if I could somehow locate a used or discounted secondary air pump..
I would like to know if anyone has found a reliable source for an used or discounted air pump for our crossfires. I haven't really seen this being addressed on any of the forum topics covering this issue.
I just cannot stomach the fact this part is $800.00 plus dollars. Will a Mercedes secondary air pump work? I am open for suggestions. Please provide links/url if you know of any.
I found one link for a mercedes air pump but I am not sure if that is the one I need.

I am in the New York Metropolitan area if that matters at all.
Thanks and advance!
