Default Re: nitrous

I have run a wet 35-40 hp shot of nitrous on my SRT 6 and have been running it for over a year. The fuel pump is very cabable of running 55 hp safely. The horror stories you hear about nitrous come from the peaople that have no concept of how to inject it or the ones that try to make more HP than the structural integrity of the motor will take. Just don't let it lean out. Use an A/F ratior meter if youare not sure. I have a Needswings CAI a 178 pully, a INmotion reflash and use a funnel snorkel with removed grill and on a good day will run 12.2 and run 11.7 with the nitrous. And my wife races it and drives it to work every day The factory is not going to supercharge an engine with a weak reciprocating assembly, just augment the power when your tune is right and don't try to make nitrous make up for a mismatched combination ar a crippled engine. I have been running nitrous and building systems for 35 years and the only motors I have hurt is when I have been stupid or a component failure has ocurred IE: fuel pump solenoid or wiring connection which can happen with or without nitrous. Just run it 10 to 15 percent rich on the fuel to N20 ratio on a fogger injector for hot days when bottle temp can get over 900 PSI on colder days you are just going to run slower if you don't heat the bottle some how.
