If I understand you were going to just do some of the ribs. THat would be odd to me as the edges would carry all of the stress and distort the belt, again if I understand it all. Me I like bigger pullies though I can not figure how to get one to fit in the current design. My pulley saver had to go to a longer belt to fit in all the increased pulley lengths, so I again ask Tighed1 to step in on your query...Woody
what i would like to do is have a machine shop remove the ribs on the pulley and bring the shoulder of the outside edges so that the inside of the pulley is now smooth were the belt rides. with the ribs removed and the belt riding inside the pulley on the smooth side do you think it will be spinning to fast for the bearing? ballpark im looking at removing 2.2mm of material inside the ribbed area
