kinda a funny story. my mom died (not the funny part) and she had a merc grand marquis. my sisters asked me to sell it. i took it to car max because they say they will buy your car even if you don't buy theres. i figured i'd at least get the wholesale price so i know what to list it for in the paper. well it took them about an hour so, since i was looking into a new car for myself, i browsed the lot. they had a '05 std. roadster 6 sp with 25K miles for $20K. i knew these cars when they came out and liked them but haven't seen many on the raod. i took it for a test drive - sweeeet. about 2 days later, i brought my girlfriend over to get her 'buy in'. it was sold

since she had no idea what a crossfire even was, i went on ebay to show her pics. did a search with a 200 mile radius. found a '05 ldt roadster with all options (nav and conti - i know right), 26K miles and it was at $16K. i knew car max does not reduce pricing so i figured this one was worth $21-$22K. I threw a $18K bid out there and didn't even watch it. Auction closed Friday night. funny part: I woke up Sat. morning to see what it finally went for and to my suprise, it went for $17,200 and I happen to be the highest bidder. that was in dec. '07. the car was a lease thru chrysler finance and was in excellent shape. i never thought i'd buy anytihing off ebay for over $500 let alone over $17K.
